Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group and developed by Tishman Speyer, the 65-story 1,031-foot-tall skyscraper sits at the northernmost end of the first phase of Hudson YardsTurner Construction Company is the construction manager and Banker Steel is in charge of fabricating the nearly $3.7 billion ground-up supertall.

Over the past two months, 66 Hudson Boulevard, aka The Spiral, has made swift progress. The first steel beam for the 65-story skyscraper was dedicated in mid-April and erected at a time when the core foundation walls hadn’t yet reached street level. Now, the steel superstructure for the Bjarke Ingels Group-designed commercial office tower is three floors above the Midtown neighborhood of Hudson Yards.

The Spiral’s First Steel Column Dedicated at 66 Hudson Boulevard, in Hudson Yards

Recently developer Tishman Speyer held a dedication ceremony to install the first steel column at the site of 66 Hudson Boulevard, aka The Spiral. A number of people signed the white-colored steel beam before it was raised into place, marking a major step in the construction process for the upcoming supertall office building. The 2.85-million-square-foot structure is located in Hudson Yards and will be designed by Bjarke Ingels of Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG). Turner Construction Company is the construction manager while Banker Steel is in charge of fabricating the steel for the 65-story tower.

Development Team Selected to Build 1.2-Million-Square-Foot Expansion at Jacob K. Javits Convention Center

Earlier this week, Empire State Development selected Lendlease Corporation and Turner Construction Company to build the 1.2-million-square-foot expansion at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, located at 655 West 34th Street in Hudson Yards. Atlanta-based firm tvsdesign is the architect on the development team, Commercial Observer reported, and has presumably replaced FXFOWLE Architects.
