Permits have been filed for two eight-story mixed-use buildings at 376 and 378 Flushing Avenue in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. The site is right on the border with Williamsburg. The Flushing Avenue subway station, serviced by the G train, is nine blocks away. Manhattan-based Riverside Developers USA is behind the applications.

New building applications were originally filed back in 2013 for an eight-story, 70-key hotel at 1080 Broadway, on the edge of Bedford-Stuyvesant, located two blocks from the Kosciuszko Street stop on the J train. DNAinfo now reports construction on the hotel is nearly complete. The structure measures a total 34,365 square feet and the ground floor will host retail space. The project will also host cultural events and presentations. When it opens in 2017, the hotel will be operated by Red Lion Hotels Corporation’s Hotel RL brand. ABCNY is the developer and Salamon Engineering Group is the applicant of record.
Construction started early last year on 44-41 Purves Street, in Long Island City, where the Rabsky Group is developing a 26-story, 284-unit residential building, and the structure’s façade installation is now complete, per The Court Square Blog. The building will measure nearly 210,000 square feet, with units averaging a (typically) rental-sized 740 square feet. Salamon Engineering Group is the architect of record, and the project should open by the end of this year.
Developers are rushing to build hotels in Brooklyn’s priciest Industrial Business Zone, North Williamsburg, and now they’re looking further afield in the sleepy industrial borderlands of Bushwick and Ridgewood. The owner of a scrap metal recycling business at 25 Stewart Avenue, on the corner of Flushing Avenue in Bushwick, has filed a new building application to construct a nine-story hotel the property.
Zelig Weiss and Riverside Developers are already building the William Vale Hotel at 55 Wythe Avenue, and now they’ve filed new building applications for a 70-key hotel at 65 Eckford Street in Greenpoint.
