Cuomo Issues RFI for Port Authority’s Redevelopment of JFK Central Hub

Governor Andrew Cuomo has announced a call for ideas in the redevelopment of John F. Kennedy International Airport. The invitation for a request for information by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is for the design and development of JFK Central, a roughly 14-acre, mixed-use space within the complex. This is the latest step in Governor Cuomo’s $13-billion plan for the redesign of JFK, which includes two new international terminals with modern passenger amenities, user-friendly ground transportation options, and improved roadway infrastructure to accommodate a projected increase of at least 15 million passengers per year.

Redesign for Hamilton Theater at 3560 Broadway Approved by Landmarks, Harlem

The Landmarks Preservation Commission has approved a revised design by Todd Zwigard Architects for the Hamilton Theater, at 3560 Broadway, in Harlem. YIMBY first saw renderings for the project on Halloween of this year. The site will be repurposed for commercial-retail and office space within the neo-Renaissance theater, with the hope of revitalizing its prominence in the neighborhood.

Redevelopment of Hamilton Theater at 3560 Broadway Revealed, Harlem

A proposal by Todd Zwigard Architects that will go before the New York Landmark Preservation Commission later today has revealed plans to redevelop the currently abandoned Hamilton Theater, at 3560 Broadway between West 146th and West 147th Streets, in Harlem. The interiors would be gutted to make way for commercial space on floors two through four, and retail space on the first floor, combined with major alterations and additions to a connecting structure.
