Renderings Revealed, Construction Begins for Health Center at 6200 Beach Channel Drive, Arverne, Queens

This Tuesday marked the groundbreaking ceremony for the horizontal expansion of a three-story health center at 6200 Beach Channel Drive in Arverne, Far Rockaway, Queens. The development is projected to double the capacity of the existing space, providing more medical resources to the growing population. The added space will allow for expanded capacity to bring essential health service to the neighborhood designated as medically underserved according to federal guidelines. Joseph P. Addabbo Family Health Center will be responsible for the development.

Rendering Revealed for 20 Spencer Street, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn

Today YIMBY has the reveal for the 12-story mixed-use building coming to 20 Spencer Street, formerly known as 18 Spencer Street, in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, right on the border with Williamsburg. The site is six blocks away from the Flushing Avenue subway station, serviced by the G trains. The Loketch Group is responsible for the development.

Permits Filed for 1230 Prospect Avenue, Foxhurst, The Bronx

Permits have been filed for an eight-story mixed-use building at 1230 Prospect Avenue, in Foxhurst, The Bronx. The site is seven blocks away from the Freeman Street subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. Badaly Architects is responsible for the design. The development will also be just two blocks away from another project by the firm, at 872 Home Street.

Permits Filed for 505 West 168th Street, Washington Heights

Permits have been filed for a six-story medical facility at 505 West 168^th Street, in Washington Heights, Manhattan. The site is two blocks away from the 168^th Street Subway Station, serviced by the 1, A, and C trains. Marino Torres MD is listed as the owner. Mr. Torres MD is a board certified pediatrics professional working at New York Presbyterian. NYP owns a multi-block hospital structure right next to the subway station. The permit does not specify a connection with the hospital, but it seems inevitable.

Permits Filed for 2619 Ocean Parkway, Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn

Permits have been filed for a new 10-story addition to the Coney Island Hospital complex at 2619 Ocean Parkway, in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. The site is ten blocks away from the Sheepshead Bay subway Station, serviced by the B and Q trains, and nine blocks away from the Neptune Avenue Subway Station, serviced by the F trains. The Coney Island Hospital, connected with the NYC Health and Hospitals Company, will be responsible for the project.

Contemporary Design Revealed for 208 Delancey Street, Lower East Side

New renderings have been revealed for 208 Delancey Street, a 12-story residential tower coming to the Lower East Side. Back in July of 2015, YIMBY reported that construction had stalled out, and the owner at the time put the project on the market for $35.5 million. New Empire Real Estate is now going to be responsible for the development, and the change in management brought along a completely revamped design, by ODA Architecture, with Shiming Tam serving as architect of record.
