The affordable housing lottery has launched for 343 Himrod Street, an eight-story residential building in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Designed by ND Architecture & Design, the structure yields 75 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 15 units for residents at 40 to 70 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $49,989 to $128,240.
Amenities include a dog park, bike storage lockers, gym, children’s playroom, coworking space, game room, common area Wi-Fi, package lockers, elevator, rooftop terrace, sundeck, and barbecue grills and prep kitchen. Residences are equipped with washers and dryers, air conditioning, hardwood floors, and energy-efficient appliances. Tenants are responsible for electricity, including stove and heat.
At 40 percent of the AMI, there are five two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $1,238 for incomes ranging from $49,989 to $73,280.
At 70 percent of the AMI, there are 10 two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $2,331 for incomes ranging from $87,463 to $128,240.
Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than July 20, 2026.

This surface lot for decades was supposed to get a 13 story tower. Luckily this is what was finally built and it was built remarkably fast. The design isn’t bad, but it’s all thick styrofoam blocks with thin plastic “stucco” on the exterior.
For now, the building looks good.
