Construction is complete on 1 Mallory Avenue, a seven-story residential building in the West Side neighborhood of Jersey City, New Jersey. Developed and built by MYHomeJC, the structure yields 44 rental units in studio- to two-bedroom duplexes. The project also includes a parking garage and a suite of amenities. The property is located at the intersection of Mallory Avenue and Fisk Street.
The building features a double-height podium covering the full lot footprint, with the bulk of the structure rising along Fisk Street. The façade is composed red brick with gray paneling on the southeast corner, which extends above the flat roof. Additional gray paneling is utilized on the rear northern elevation and between the grid of recessed windows on the southern face. Expansive glass clads the corner entrance beneath a rectangular canopy, and new tree-lined sidewalks surround the property.
The following renderings preview a typical open-plan apartment, as well as a bedroom and bathroom.
Select units come with private terraces. Every unit is equipped with a washer and dryer.
Below is an example of a two-bedroom duplex unit.
The Mallory is a pet-friendly building with residential amenities including a landscaped rooftop terrace with an adjacent lounge and dining space, a coworking lounge, fitness center, bike storage, storage room, a 24/7 attended lobby, indoor parking available for purchase. Maintenance will be available on call. Christine Ayubi of Corcoran Sawyer Smith is handling leasing and marketing.
The property was formerly occupied by two one-story commercial buildings, as seen in the below Google Street View image from 2020. The structures were demolished sometime before 2024, and work on the new structure began in early 2025.
The development is less than a 10-minute walk from the West Side Avenue light rail station, providing transit up to North Bergen and down to Bayonne. The site is also in close proximity to NJ-440 and several NJ Transit bus routes including 80, 09, and 119. To the north is a large retail complex with big box stores, supermarkets, and multiple dining options.
