A new rendering has been revealed for 567 Second Avenue, a 14-story residential building in Kips Bay, Manhattan. Developed by New Empire Corp., the structure will yield 131 condominium units and ground-floor commercial space. The property is located at the northwest corner of Second Avenue and East 31st Street. An architect has yet to be publicly disclosed.

The rendering previews the building’s southern and eastern elevations, showing a cubic massing for the lower ten floors followed by cutouts at the corners and center of the top four stories. The design will incorporate rounded edges, including curved glass panels, with a façade composed of floor-to-ceiling windows and beige paneling that tapers from a dense grid at the northern and western ends to more expansive glass at the main corner. The residential lobby will likely sit along East 31st Street, while the retail doors will face Second Avenue.

The site is currently occupied by a row of four-story low-rise structures at 247 East 31st Street, and 563, 567 and 569 Second Avenue. New Empire Corp., purchased the assemblage from the Marchi family for $38 million in January.

The nearest subway from the site is the 6 train at the 28th and 33rd Street stations along Park Avenue South. Also nearby to the east is the Seastreak Ferry–East 35th Street terminal for East River ferry access.

567 Second Avenue’s anticipated completion date is slated for completion in the fourth quarter of 2029.
