Construction is complete on Astoria Point, an 11-story residential building at 21–07 Astoria Boulevard in Astoria, Queens. Designed by Kao-Hwa Lee Architects P.C. and developed by Stagg Group, the structure yields 68 rental units in studio- to two-bedroom layouts, with 21 reserved for affordable housing. The project also includes ground-floor commercial space. The property is located on an interior lot by the intersection of Astoria Boulevard and 21st Street.

Recent photographs show the finished appearance of the building, which features a multifaceted massing that steps upward toward the west, creating space for private terraces on the upper levels. The façade is composed of a mix of charcoal and white brick with contrasting EIFS on the lot line walls. The fenestration features large recessed windows and glass doors leading to stacks of balconies with metal railings. The building culminates in an expansive landscaped terrace with two offset bulkheads.

It’s not that terrible, but all those unfinished balcony undersides definitely is.

  2. Looks like they need to wash down some of those bricks with muriatic acid, the lime is leaching out leaving white trails.
Building looks pretty inoffensive, should make for a decent rental for those who don’t mind the 10 block uphill walk to the subway or to central Astoria.

  3. 68 new living units👍, I like the way it has staggered terrace space amidst slightly curved street-facing sections, simple enough, but still a nice addition, balcony undersides are probably to be still “rolled out” with a finish paint still, I know from doing finish work on bldg’s, just cause the “build” phase is “complete”, there is always punch list stuff to do upon what looks like “completion” from the average “walker bye’.
