Permits have been filed for a 12-story mixed-use building at 89-53 165th Street in Jamaica, Queens. Located between Jamaica Avenue and 89th Avenue, the lot is near the 169th Street subway station, served by the F train. Ami Weinstock is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 124-foot-tall development will yield 438,961 square feet, with 432,484 square feet designated for residential space and 6,477 square feet for commercial space. The building will have 99 residences with a total of 591 residences on the zoning lot, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 731 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have four enclosed parking spaces.
JFA Architects & Engineers is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits were filed this month for the single-story structure on the site. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

The street in question does not permit parking. Those four spaces will be in great demand.
doesnt stop anyone from parking there sadly
165 has been closed off to cars since before I visited there in the 80s.
Curious if the city is thinking of de-pedmalling 165th here? It wouldn’t be the worst idea IMO.
