Renderings have been released for Chelsea Canvas, a 14-story residential building at 280 West 24th Street in Chelsea, Manhattan. Designed by FXCollaborative, the structure yields 190 units in studio to three-bedrooms layouts with interiors by INC Architecture and Design. Select apartments feature private terraces. The building’s move-in is set for this month, and leasing has launched for the property, which is located along Eighth Avenue between West 23rd and West 24th Streets.
The building’s design reflects Chelsea’s historical mid-rise residential architecture with a light gray brick façade framing an irregular grid of recessed windows with dark metal frames and broad mullions. Apartments come with white oak cabinetry, Bosch appliances, and in-unit laundry.
Amenities at Chelsea Canvas include a 24-hour lobby, a resident lounge, a fitness center with yoga studio, and a rooftop lounge offering panoramic city views. Additional amenities include bike storage and rental storage units.
The project is located within walking distance of The High Line, Chelsea Market, and a variety of dining and shopping options. Chelsea Canvas will also feature a Target and an Apple Bank on its ground floor.
“With sophisticated and high-quality design, thoughtful amenities and one of Manhattan’s most desirable living destinations, Chelsea Canvas offers the comprehensive lifestyle experience renters are looking for in New York City right now, and we look forward to soon welcoming our first residents,” said Matthew Villetto, executive vice president of Douglas Elliman Development Marketing, the exclusive leasing and marketing firm for Chelsea Canvas. “Premium submarkets, such as Chelsea, have been predominantly known for their condominiums, but in recent years we have seen a proliferation of luxury new development residences available for rent, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring the latest new luxury rental development offering to Chelsea.”

A very flattering perspective of Hudson Yards in this rendering. I don’t know how closely this reflects reality, however.
Very accurate depiction of the HY views from there.
My apartment at Penn South overlooks this building. Welcome Target and Apple bank. Great addition to the neighborhood.
Where will the Target be?
