The affordable housing lottery has launched for 645 East 9th Street, a seven-story residential building in Manhattan’s East Village. Designed by Goshow Architects and developed by Center Development Corporation, the structure yields ten residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are three units for residents at 70 to 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $59,692 to $198,250.

Amenities include bike storage lockers, pet-friendly policies, a shared laundry room, outdoor areas, package lockers, and a virtual doorman. Residences include dishwashers. Tenants are responsible for electricity including heat.

At 70 percent of the AMI, there is one one-bedroom with a monthly rent of $1,741 for incomes ranging from $59,692 to $88,970.

At 130 percent of the AMI, there is one one-bedroom with a monthly rent of $2,500 for incomes ranging from $85,715 to $165,230, and one two-bedroom with a monthly rent of $2,900 for incomes ranging from $99,429 to $198,250.

Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than March 29, 2024.

    That would suit me so well. I like being cold and my neighbors would provide enough heat for me!

    PS lotteries are incredibly unfair. Window dressing.
