Permits have been filed to expand a two-story structure into an eight-story mixed-use building at 89-10 150th Street in Jamaica, Queens. Located between 89th and 90th Avenues, the lot is near the Parsons Boulevard subway station, serviced by the F train and the Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer station, serviced by E, J, and Z trains. Song Dong of FR Development LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 85-foot-tall development will yield 23,349 square feet, with 21,621 square feet designated for residential space and 1,728 square feet for community facility space. The building will have 32 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 675 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar, a 36-foot-long rear yard, and nine enclosed parking spaces.

SD Design Studio in Flushing, Queens, is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the project calls for a vertical and horizontal expansion. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. I’m pretty sure that house will be demolished. How is a 2 story wood house going to be expanded into an 8 story building?

    • It’s a permitting thing that saves them money. They will leave some part of the house to classify it as an alteration, then demolish it later after filing for an amendment.
