Developer Fareri Associates has updated its plans for a four-story residential building in Greenwich, Connecticut. Located at 581 West Putnam Avenue, the 44-unit development will sit across from the Citarella grocery store on the west side of town. Changes to the proposal after discussions with the town Architectural Review Committee include a reduced floor area and a brick façade in a softer, warmer tone.

“We’re always happy to work with town officials and neighbors to address their concerns and get everything just right before final site work begins,” said John Fareri of Fareri Associates.

The updates were announced after Fareri Associates met with the Architectural Review Committee, and plans were also reviewed by the town Planning and Zoning Commission. The commissioners had additional concerns about the apartment complex needing more greenery and plants, as well as possibly reducing parking from 86 spaces.

Development plans for the property first started in 2018. Work began in October 2020 to demolish the two buildings on the site, dining and entertainment venues Garbo’s and the Penthouse, which had fallen into disrepair.
