Permits have been filed for a five-story mixed-use building at 12 Rockwell Place in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. Located between Dekalb Avenue and Fulton Street, the through lot is also addressed as 623 Fulton Street. The site is within walking distance of the Dekalb Avenue subway station, serviced by the B, Q, and R trains and the Nevins Street station, serviced by the 2, 3, 4, and 5 trains. Rabsky Group under the 625 Fulton A LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 50-foot-tall development will yield 53,875 square feet, but it is unclear how much square footage will be allocated to residential and commercial space. The concrete-based structure will have 52 residences, a cellar, but no accessory parking.

Hamish Whitefield of Fischer Rasmussen Whitefield Architects is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the lot is vacant. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. Only 5 stories? Seems like a missed opportunity given all the transit right there.

  2. I’m super confused about this. There were studies for this site, published on Yimby, showing a 900″ massive building. Does this permit take the whole lot?

  3. Haha, this is somewhat smaller than the 945′ we were expecting for this site, isn’t it. Just a temporary filing to get the foundation work started perhaps? And of course YIMBY is totally asleep at the wheel in figuring this out. Really baffling how a development blog can’t keep track of local developments.

  4. WTF?

I thought this was supposed to be the biggest building in Brooklyn…This has got to be a bait and switch.

    This reporting is awful.
Whoever is doing this research doesn’t know how to read filings on bisweb.
This article needs a do over.

  6. This doesn’t make any sense.
