Updated renderings from Richard Bienenfeld Architect reveal a new 14-story building at 64 Centre Street in downtown New Rochelle. The project will take shape within Westchester Place, an expanding mixed-use complex envisioned by local agencies as a vehicle to the revitalization of the downtown area.

“The vision Allstate has for New Rochelle is invigorating,” said Stephen Kliegerman, president of Halstead Development Marketing and long-time Westchester resident, in an official statement released last year. “They are taking what is an underdeveloped alley and creating a live/work/play environment that will be a haven for artists and a vibrant destination for the community. We are excited to work with them on this process and help develop downtown New Rochelle.”

The building at 64 Centre Street is expected to be the first to debut at Westchester Place. This phase of development will yield 144 rental apartments ranging from studios to two-bedroom spreads, with on-site parking and 1,550 square feet of ground-floor retail. While the architects have not specified all residential amenity spaces, available renderings include illustrations of a roof deck with a fire pit, outdoor grills, lounge areas, recreational spaces, and unobstructed views of the surrounding city.

The face of the structure is primarily comprised of white cladding and large floor-to-ceiling windows designed to complement the two additional buildings within the complex.

An anticipated occupancy date has not yet been revealed.
