Permits have been filed for a seven-story mixed-use building at 1169 Hoe Avenue in Foxhurst, The Bronx. Located between East 167th Street and Home Street, the interior lot is one block south of the Freeman Street subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. Volvi Hirsch under the 1169 Hoe LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 75-foot-tall development will yield 21,153 square feet, with 17,201 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have 25 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 688 square feet. The masonry-based structure will also have a cellar and a 40-foot-long rear yard.

S. Wieder Architect is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits were filed in January of this year. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. Hello New York YIMBY: Because there is not much time, so read and comment and then say thank you.

  2. What will the other 4000 square feet be used for??

  3. What would the going rent be?

  4. Why would you build a 25 unit building in an area that seems like it has residential homes. Packing all those families in a unit , is there a requirement for a park for the families? Is there a provision for parking for the residents , as this will make the area crowded.
The quality of life is important to families .
Are the builders just packing as many units allowable ? People who live in the neighborhood should not be boxed in or boxed out ?

  5. South bronx buildings desperately need parking for their residents, that area could really use an adequate fairly priced parking lot.
