Evolve Architecture & Design has proposed major alterations to the exterior façade of 686 Broadway in Manhattan’s NoHo Historic District. The structure will serve as a restaurant and tasting room for The Great Jones Distillery, an establishment founded by Proximo Spirits.

The original property dates back to the 1940’s but underwent a four-story expansion around 1999. Evolve Architecture reports that no evidence of historically significant architecture remains at the site today.

The proposed scope of work includes the removal of the existing storefront glazing system and brick veneer. From ground floor to pinnacle, new exterior elements include decorative brass treatments on the property’s doors and windows, dark brick masonry throughout, and brass signage for the distillery.

Decorative iron work at the pinnacle of the structure is the alteration’s most ornate feature. The geometric metalwork will serve as a decorative grille at the HVAC Louver.
