Permits have been filed for a ten-story mixed-use building at 161-11 132nd Avenue, in Rochdale, Queens. The site is about a mile away from the Locus Manor train station, serviced by the Long Island Railroad. Fifth Avenue Community will be responsible for the development. The organization is dedicated to creating affordable housing, educating, advocacy, and workforce development.

The 97-foot tall mixed-use building will yield 222,180 square feet, with 219,490 square feet dedicated to residential use, and 2,690 square feet for community facility use. 159 apartments will be created, averaging 1,380 square feet apiece, indicating that the building will be dedicated to family housing.

90 parking spaces will be included on-site. Classrooms will be included in the cellar and unspecified community facility space will be located on the ground floor.

SMA Architects is responsible for the design.

Demolition permits have not been filed, and the estimated completion date has not been announced.

A 10-story building is wildly out of place on that block of small homes.
