Affordable Housing Project Excelsior II Nears Completion in Highbridge, The Bronx

Construction is wrapping on a nine-story affordable housing project, named Excelsior II, at 120 West 169th Street, in The Bronx’s Highbridge. YIMBY covered the rendering reveal for this site in 2014, and the project is expected to be complete before the end of this month. Highbridge Community Development Corporation is responsible for the development, and the Briarwood Organization is handling general contracting.

The 88-foot tall structure yields 67,020 square feet of construction space, with an unspecified amount dedicated to residential. With 60 dwelling units, the average size can be expected to be below 1000 square feet apiece.

Tenants will have access to community rooms, roof decks, and outdoor garden areas, as well as parking for 34 vehicles, which includes nine covered spaces.

SLCE Architects is responsible for the design, and the address is 120 West 169th Street.
