Earlier this year, YIMBY revealed the first few renderings of Extell Development’s 252 South Street, on the Lower East Side (in the Two Bridges neighborhood), and now Bloomberg Business has the full reveal for the 80-story tower. Dubbed One Manhattan Square, the building will have more than 800 condominiums, and will feature 50,000 square feet and 40,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenities, respectively. Foundation work is well underway, and completion is expected by early 2019. Adam Associates is the architect of record.

  1. The height of this building is like a damn yo-yo! First is was 68 floors, then 56, then 68, now 80? Man that’s big.

This is the first YIMBY article I’ve found to mention that it will be condos as opposed to rentals. Is that a new development or just not mentioned before?

Will it still have a separate 13-story tower of affordable units?

  2. Let’s hope they’re smart enough to put the electrical equipment above the first floor, considering how close this is to the river.
