6 Platt Street: Future Four Points by Sheraton

Construction has begun on 6 Platt Street, which is just one of several new hotels rising in the Financial District. The tower will rise 27 stories (273 feet), and will have 263 hotel rooms, per DOB filings.

6 Platt Street will be occupied by a Four Points by Sheraton.

The renderings of the project are quite bland, but the building is only 27 stories tall. One major positive is the building’s base, which looks like it will blend nicely with the neighborhood’s historic architecture.

The above photo fails to mention that the large blank wall above the project–what looks to be part of the hotel, but actually isn’t–belongs to 215 Pearl Street, which will be rising adjacent to 6 Platt. That hotel will be 39 stories, and a Marriott.
