Phase Three of Atlantic Chestnut Affordable Complex Breaks Ground at 275 Chestnut Street in East New York, Brooklyn

Construction is underway on 275 Chestnut Street, the third and final phase of the 4.5-acre Atlantic Chestnut master plan in East New York, Brooklyn. Designed by Dattner Architects and developed by Phipps Houses, the 14-story structure will span 394,954 square feet and yield 327 affordable housing units, adding to the 840 affordable units in the first two completed phases. The project will also include a supermarket and other commercial and community facilities. The property is bounded by Atlantic Avenue to the south, Euclid Avenue to the east, and Chestnut Street to the west.

LPC Approves Renovation, Expansion of 385 Greenwich Street in Tribeca, Manhattan

The New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) has unanimously approved proposals for the renovation and expansion of 385 Greenwich Street, a four-story residential building in Manhattan’s Tribeca West Historic District. Designed by DXA Studio, the project will involve the construction of a contiguous one-story addition spanning the roof of the building and its conjoined neighbor at 71 North Moore Street. The structure will continue to yield multiple residential units and ground-floor commercial space. The property is located at the northeast corner of Greenwich and North Moore Streets.

Extell Files Permits for 1,198-Foot, 430-Unit Supertall at 80 West 67th Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side

Extell has filed permits for its proposed 86-story residential supertall at 80 West 67th Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. At 1,198 feet tall, the skyscraper would easily surpass the 775-foot 50 West 60th Street as the tallest building in the neighborhood. The concrete-based structure is planned to span 1,214,792 square feet and yield 430 units with an average scope of 2,766 square feet. The building would also include 25,246 square feet of commercial space, two cellar levels, and a 187-vehicle parking garage. The project was formerly known as 77 West 66th Street and is located on the east side of Columbus Avenue between West 66th and 67th Streets.
