The Real Deal reports that an affiliate of Ruder Finn has acquired the five-story, 34,000 square-foot commercial building at 425 East 53rd Street, in Midtown East, for $30.7 million. The building will be converted to office space to house the firm’s new headquarters, and Spagnolo Gisness & Associates is designing. The currently occupying tenants will vacant the building this summer.

Property owner Wonwoo Chang has filed applications for a four-story, four-unit residential building measuring 3,114 square feet at 32-29 44th Street, in the southeastern part of Astoria. Anastasios Giannopoulos is designing, and an existing single-story structure must first be removed.

Brownstoner reports the vacant lot at 1294 Bushwick Avenue, in southern Bushwick, as well as the three-story townhouse at No. 1296, are on the market as a development site for $1.25 million. The site is pre-approved for two buildings and a total of six units — the existing townhouse is to be kept and expanded under approved plans. An LLC had acquired the two lots for only $605,000 last year in April.

An LLC has filed applications for a four-story, 16-unit residential building measuring 15,800 square feet at the lots 1702-1706 Newkirk Avenue, in southern Flatbush. Richard J. Walsh, of Citiscape Consulting LTD, is the architect of record, and an existing three-story wood-framed structure must first be demolished.

Nike Leases Office Space at Durst’s 855 6th Avenue, in Midtown

Crain’s Business reports Nike has leased 147,000 square feet of office space at the Durst Organization’s 42-story, 570,000 square-foot mixed-use building at 855 6th Avenue, in Midtown South. The third through sixth floors will by occupied by Nike, and their lease will include the 15,000 square-foot outdoor deck. The building was revealed by YIMBY in 2014, and completion is expected in early 2016.
