Mirza Rahman has filed applications for a four-story, 13-unit mixed-use building at 87-13 – 18-17 Homelawn Street, in Jamaica Hills, a block away from the 169th Street stop on the F train. The 12,300 square-foot building will include 1,680 square feet for a community facility in the cellar, and residential units will measure an average 815 square feet each. JLS Designs is the architect of record, and two existing single-family structures must first be demolished.

Four-Story, Eight-Family Building Coming To 38 Broome Street, Greenpoint

Izhak Djmemal has filed applications for a four-story, eight-unit residential building at 38 Broome Street, in southern Greenpoint. The new building will measure 5,000 square feet, which means units will average 625 square feet, indicating rentals. Woody Chen’s InFocus is the applicant of record, and an existing two-story, three-unit townhouse must first be demolished.

Stonewall Inn Designated An Individual Landmark

The Stonewall Inn, located at 51-53 Christopher Street, has been designated an individual landmark by the Landmarks Preservation Commission. The unanimous vote took place Tuesday shortly before noon and was greeted by a roar of applause. This unusual move gives the bar’s history as part the LGBT rights movement the official city recognition many say it deserves.

Residential units will measure an average 680 square feet, putting the building within the realm of typical rental construction. Suresh Manchanda’s L&C Associates applied for the permit, and an existing single-family townhouse must first be demolished.
