Demolition is complete at 242 East 71st Street, the site of a 22-story residential tower in the Lenox Hill section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Developed by Avdoo, the 172,000-square-foot structure will yield 50 condominium units, ground-floor retail space, and enclosed parking. The project will rise from a nearly 10,000-square-foot lot at the corner of Second Avenue and East 71st Street.
Construction is continuing to rise on 1448 Third Avenue, a 39-story mixed-use tower in the Yorkville section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by CetraRuddy Architecture and developed by Douglaston Development, the 478-foot-tall structure will span 287,632 square feet and yield 125 condominium units with an average scope of 1,804 square feet. The building will also contain 40,864 square feet of commercial space, 21,224 square feet of community facility space, a cellar level, and a 20-foot-long rear yard. The property is alternately addressed as 175 East 82nd Street and located at the corner of Third Avenue and East 82nd Street.
Plans have been announced for a new residential project at 150 East 79th Street on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Developed by Zhang Xin of Closer Properties, the structure will yield condominium units and ground-floor retail space, as well as a collection of residential amenities. The development site is located at the corner of Lexington Avenue and East 79th Street.
Work is finishing up on 200 East 75th Street, an 18-story residential building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Beyer Blinder Belle Architects and developed by EJS Group, the 214-foot-tall structure spans 97,569 square feet and will yield 35 condominium units in two- to six-bedroom layouts. The development will also contain ground-floor retail space. The property is alternately addressed as 1305-1307 Third Avenue and located at the intersection of Third Avenue and East 75th Street.
Excavation is underway at 1655 First Avenue, the site of a 23-story residential complex on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by S. Wieder Architect for Cheskel Schwimmer of Chess Builders, the project will consist of two conjoined structures standing 235 feet tall. The buildings will span a combined 193,000 square feet and yield 198 rental units with an average scope of 725 square feet, as well as ground-floor commercial space, a cellar level, and a 30-foot-long rear yard. The 12,000-square-foot property is alternately addressed as 355 East 86th Street and located at the northwest corner of First Avenue and East 86th Street.
