Beekman Tops Out At 401 East 51st Street in Turtle Bay, Manhattan

Construction has topped out on Beekman, a 29-story residential building at 401 East 51st Street in the Turtle Bay section of Midtown East, Manhattan. Designed by Selldorf Architects and developed by CBSK Developers, the 358-foot-tall structure will yield 83 condominium units in studio- to three-bedroom layouts, two full-floor penthouses, and an exclusive three-story townhouse with it’s own private garage along East 51st Street, and 3,465 square feet of ground-floor commercial space. The property is alternately addressed as 930 First Avenue and located at the northeast corner of First Avenue and East 51st Street.

Housing Lottery Launches for Willow Tree Residences at 225 East 45th Street in Midtown East, Manhattan

The affordable housing lottery has launched for Willow Tree Residences, a 21-story supportive housing building at 225 East 45th Street in Midtown East, Manhattan. Designed by Dattner Architects and developed by Project Renewal, the structure yields 130 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 51 units for residents at 60 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $42,275 to $77,760.

Malabar Residences Nears Completion At 126 East 57th Street in Midtown East, Manhattan

Construction is getting closer to completion on Malabar Residences, a 28-story residential tower at 126 East 57th Street in Midtown East, Manhattan. Designed by ODA Architecture and developed by MRR Development, the 346-foot-tall structure will span 140,806 square feet and yield 145 condominium units with an average scope of 971 square feet. The project will also include two lower-level retail spaces spanning 4,114 square feet, and amenities for residents. The property is located at the northwest corner of East 56th Street and Lexington Avenue and includes a narrow panhandle extension to East 57th Street.

Permits Filed for 175 Park Avenue Supertall Skyscraper in Midtown East, Manhattan

RXR Realty has filed permits for 175 Park Avenue, a 95-story mixed-use supertall in Midtown East, Manhattan. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and co-developed by TF Cornerstone, the project has been expanded from its last-announced scope of 83 stories. It’s unclear whether the skyscraper’s previous 1,545-foot height will also be revised. The development, formerly dubbed Project Commodore, will replace the existing Grand Hyatt New York and rise adjacent to Grand Central Terminal at the northwest corner of Lexington Avenue and East 42nd Street.

Residential Conversion and Expansion Revealed for 609 Fifth Avenue in Midtown East, Manhattan

New renderings have been revealed for the proposed 29-story office-to-residential conversion and vertical expansion of 609 Fifth Avenue in Midtown East, Manhattan. Designed by Rafael Viñoly Architects and developed in a joint venture between RJ Capital Holdings and Top Rock Holdings, the project would more than double the height of the existing 14-story office structure from 187 feet to 408 feet tall and increase its square footage by 93,000 to nearly 226,000 square feet. The revamped building is slated to yield 66 condominium units. The property is alternately addressed as 4 East 49th Street and located at the southeast corner of Fifth Avenue and East 49th Street.
