Village officials have approved the redevelopment of the two-story movie theater at 321 Merrick Road, in Nassau County’s Lynbrook. The expanded structure will measure 70,000 square feet and have 15 screens. Blumenfeld Development Group and The Prusik Group are developing, and completion is expected in early 2017, according to Long Island Business News.
Dubbed Sun Valley Towers, Alma Realty Corp. is wrapping up construction on their five-story, 72-unit mixed-use building at 14 Brooklyn Avenue, in Nassau County’s Valley Stream. According to LI Herald, Blink Fitness will occupy 15,000 square feet on the ground floor, and renting will begin by September. The building’s former developer also had plans for a second six-story mixed-use building on the same block.
LI Herald reports New York Cosmos, a professional soccer team, and Mattone Group have held a community meeting earlier this month detailing their Elmont stadium proposal, which would redevelop the parking lots south of Belmont Park, in Nassau County. The team is one of four groups that submitted plans to the Empire State Development Corp. over the past few years. The $400 million project would include a 25,000-seat stadium, 175-key hotel and commercial-retail.
The LI Herald reports developer iStar FM Loans LLC is finalizing deals with City Council for their planned two-building, 15-story mixed-use development spanning the vacant parcel 100-198 East Broadway, on Long Beach’s waterfront. Retail space will measure 11,000 square feet, and 522 residential units were approved for. Construction is expected to begin once tax abatements have been approved by the Nassau County Industrial Development Agency.
