State, city, and county officials recently gathered to celebrate the opening of a new playground at 178 Warburton Avenue in Yonkers. Located within The Ridgeway affordable housing project, the space is designed for children ages five to 12 with rubberized flooring and a variety of play equipment.
In 2020, the Municipal Housing Authority for the City of Yonkers (MHACY) was responsible for the renovation of 1,336 affordable housing units as well as the new construction of 425 units to be completed this year.
Developers behind a new eight-story affordable housing building in Yonkers recently secured more than $7.85 million in construction financing to complete the project. Known as 178 Warburton at The Ridgeway, the development will contain 81 mixed-income rental apartments for households between 30 percent and 90 percent of the area median income.
