Permits have been filed for a 13-story mixed-use building at 680 East Fordham Road in Belmont, The Bronx. Located at the intersection of Cambreleng Avenue and East Fordham Road, the lot is closest to the Fordham Road subway station, served by the B and D trains. Hen Vaknin is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 116-foot-tall development will yield 234,414 square feet, with 198,966 square feet designated for residential space and 35,448 square feet for commercial space. The building will have 92 residences with a total of 370 units on the lot, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 537 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar and seven open parking spaces.

    Every single surface parking in the city should be targeted for redevelopment. Raise the property taxes each year to convince the owner that adding housing units above is their best option.
