Permits have been filed for an eight-story mixed-use building at 228 Berry Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Located between Grand Street and North 1st Street, the interior lot is closest to the Bedford Avenue subway station, serviced by the L train. Hershy Silberstein of Blue Shine Builders Inc. is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 85-foot-tall development will yield 35,329 square feet, with 34,825 square feet designated for residential space and 504 square feet for commercial space. The building will have 50 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 697 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar, 25 enclosed parking spaces, and 25 open parking spaces.

Hamish Whitefield Architects is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits were filed in July 2021 for the two-story building on the site. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
