Permits have been filed for a nine-story mixed-use building at 953 Atlantic Avenue in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. Located between Grand Avenue and Classon Avenue, the lot is three blocks from the Franklin Avenue subway station, serviced by the C and S trains. Efraim Weber of 86 Lefferts Corp. is listed as the owner behind the applications.
Construction on the Ritz Carlton Hotel at 1185 Broadway in NoMad has surpassed the podium levels and formation of the floor slabs for the main hotel portion is well underway. Located at the northern intersection of Broadway and West 28th Street, the reinforced concrete structure is set to rise 580 feet and yield 150,000 square feet of space and 250 guest rooms. The 40-story skyscraper is designed by Rafael Vinoly and developed by Marriott, Ritz Carlton Hotels, and Flag Luxury Properties. The interiors are being designed by Yabu Pushelberg.
A large amount of scaffolding has been set up over the brick and stone walls of 137 Varick Street in Hudson Square in preparation for the building’s demolition. The site is one of several structures that will be cleared to make way for The Walt Disney Company’s new headquarters, which will be addressed Four Hudson Square and reportedly consist of a pair of 19-story buildings. Skidmore Owings & Merrill is the designer of the project and Skanska is in charge of the on-site construction activity.
Bijou Properties and Intercontinental Real Estate Corporation have launched leasing at 7 Seventy House, a mixed-use residential building on the western edge of Hoboken, New Jersey. The new property is located at 770 Jackson Street and includes 424 rentals and approximately 25,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor.
Proposals for a 179-foot-tall development at 44 Broad Street in Port Chester, White Plains would require a new zoning district defined by building height versus stories. Located between Irving Avenue and King Street, the 17-story, mixed-use building would sit on a nine-parcel lot adjacent to Port Chester’s Metro-North Railroad station. Although the Port Chester village board of trustees is reviewing zoning codes for the area, developer Broad Street Owner LLC is petitioning for an immediate change to get the transit-oriented project underway. The high-rise development would comprise 407,000 square feet with 286 apartments, 12,600 square feet of ground-floor commercial space, and 267 parking spaces.
