Construction has passed the podium levels at 30 West 39th Street, a 300-room hotel in Midtown. Designed by Peter Poon Architects and developed by Fortuna Realty, the reinforced concrete structure will eventually top out at 27 stories and stand 323 feet high. Leeding Builders Group, LLC is the general contractor for the 133,500-square-foot-project.
The Landmarks Preservation Commission is reviewing proposals to renovate the William Ulmer Brewery at 71-83 Beaver Street in Bushwick, Brooklyn. As envisioned by DXA Studio, the building’s façade would receive a major facelift with interiors repurpose for retail and office use.

The Margaritaville Resort at 560 Seventh Avenue in Times Square has climbed to the pinnacle. Work on the curtain wall has also moved along quickly and is nearing the upper floors of the reinforced concrete superstructure. Designed by Stonehill & Taylor Architects and developed by Sharif El-Gamal of Soho Properties along with MHP Real Estate Services, the nearly $300 million project will help fulfill the booming demand for hotel space as tourism to New York City and areas like Times Square continues to rise. The 29-story tower is located at the corner of Seventh avenue and West 40th Street and will contain 234 rooms.
