Renderings Revealed for Three-Building Project at 90-02 168th Street, Jamaica, Queens

The Greater Jamaica Development Corporation (GJDC) has revealed a major joint venture between BRP Companies and Wharton Properties to purchase and develop a site located at 90-02 168th Street, in Jamaica, Queens. An open-air parking lot will be replaced with a new building totaling over 500,000 square feet, which will also include over 300 residential units, as well as 70,000 square feet of retail space. Perkins Eastman is behind the design.

Permits Filed for 148-29 90th Avenue, Jamaica, Queens

Initial building applications were filed back in the spring for 148-31 90th Avenue, in Jamaica, Queens, and now, slightly revised permits have been pulled with the DOB, this time using the address 148-29 90th Avenue. The total construction area will measure just over 100,000 square feet, and within that, there will be 69,789 square feet of residential space, divided amongst 90 units. There will also be a 45-car parking garage in the cellar, which will also include room for 45 bicycles. Raymond Chan Architects is the architect of record, while George Xu’s 90 Ave Realty LLC is listed as the developer. Demolition permits for the existing structure have already been filed, and construction should soon begin.



97-11 Sutphin Boulevard

Permits Filed for Hotel at 97-11 Sutphin Boulevard, Jamaica, Queens

Chelsea isn’t the only neighborhood seeing fresh permits for hotels this morning, and new building applications have also been filed for a 114-room project at 97-11 Sutphin Boulevard, in Jamaica, Queens. Cheng Yang-Lee of Atelier CS is the architect of record, and the nine-story structure will have 36,375 square feet of commercial space, for rooms averaging almost 320 square feet apiece. Charanjit Singh of AIH Group, LLC is listed as the developer, and demolition permits for an existing one-story structure were filed back in March.
