Renderings Reveal Six-Story Multifamily Building at 15 Greenwich Avenue, Greenwich Village, Manhattan

Earlier this week, Meltzer/Mandl Architects revealed the first renderings of a new six-story multifamily building at 15 Greenwich Street in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village Historic District. Drawings and illustrations of the proposed development were revealed in a public hearing with the Landmarks Preservation Commission, which must issue a Certificate of Appropriateness before construction can break ground.

Construction on 555 Greenwich Street Nears Street Level in Hudson Square, Manhattan

Foundation work is progressing on 555 Greenwich Street, a 16-story office building in Hudson Square. Formerly addressed as 561 Greenwich Street, the structure will yield 270,000 square feet and will connect on nearly every floor with the adjacent 345 Hudson Street. The project is designed by COOKFOX Architects and developed by the joint venture Hudson Square Properties, which includes Trinity Church Wall Street, Norges Bank Investment Management, and Hines, and is planned to debut as one of the city’s most sustainable buildings.

181 Mercer Street’s Glass Exterior Nears Completion in Greenwich Village, Manhattan

Curtain wall installation is getting closer to completion on 181 Mercer Street, NYU‘s new 750,000-square-foot building in Greenwich Village. Designed by Davis Brody Bond and KieranTimberlake, the development consists of three towers rising from a full-block podium between Houston, Mercer, and Bleecker Streets and I.M. Pei’s University Village complex.

‘Restorative Ground’ Public Pavilion and Installation Debuts in Hudson Square, Manhattan

Hudson Square is now home to ‘Restorative Ground,’ a temporary public art installation and pavilion designed by WIP Collaborative. The installation is located on King Street between Hudson and Greenwich Streets and arrives as part of the local community’s participation in New York City’s Open Streets Program.

New Renderings Revealed For The Ronald O. Perelman Performing Arts Center in Financial District, Manhattan

Exclusive new renderings reveal the Ronald O. Perelman Performing Arts Center, a 138-foot-tall venue under construction in the World Trade Center complex in the Financial District. Designed by REX with Davis Brody Bond Architects as the executive architect and developed by an independent non-profit company called The Perelman, the project recently topped out at the northern end of the 16-acre site, bound by Greenwich Street to the east, Vesey Street to the north, Fulton Street to the south, and Skidmore Owings & Merrill‘s One World Trade Center to the west.

199 Chrystie Street Finishes Up Construction on Manhattan’s Lower East Side

Exterior work is nearing completion on 199 Chrystie Street, a 14-story residential building on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Designed by Thomas Juul-Hansen and developed by KD Sagamore Capital, which purchased the plot for $20 million, the 39,188-square-foot building will yield 14 homes in a distinctive interlocking layout with balconies overlooking Sara D. Roosevelt Park. The project site is located near the intersection of Chrystie and Stanton Streets and was previously home to two buildings, 199 and 201 Chrystie Street, which were demolished in early 2019.

Renderings Reveal 12-Story Residential Building at 63 Pitt Street on Manhattan’s Lower East Side

New renderings from Frank Quatela Architects illustrate a forthcoming multifamily property at 63 Pitt Street on Manhattan’s Lower East. The 12-story building arrives from developer Prosper Property Group and will create 59 rental apartments.

The Grand Mulberry Nears Completion at 185 Grand Street in Little Italy, Manhattan

Construction is nearing completion on The Grand Mulberry, a seven-story mixed-use building at 185 Grand Street in Little Italy. Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects and developed by Be-Aviv and Nexus Development Group, the property will yield 20 residential units above ground-floor retail space and the Italian American Museum. The project is located at the corner of Mulberry and Grand Streets.

Casa Cipriani Readies for August Debut at The Battery Maritime Building in Financial District, Manhattan

Preparations are underway for next month’s grand opening of Casa Cipriani, a private club and hotel at the historic Battery Maritime Building at 10 South Street in the Financial District. Construction recently completed on a 21st century steel and glass addition designed by Marvel with interiors by Thierry Despont atop the 112-year old Beaux Arts-style ferry terminal, which was originally designed by Walker & Morris and prominently stands along the waterfront. Measuring 263 feet wide and standing two stories tall, the 192,000-square-foot complex yields 47 hotel suites with private balconies overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge, the Statue of Liberty, Governors Island, and the inbound and outbound Staten Island Ferries across the New York Harbor. MJM Associates is the general contractor, Silman is the structural engineer, Langan is the civil engineer, Madson Black did the lighting, and Cipriani, Midtown Equities and Centaur Properties are the clients.

Moxy Hotel Continues Ascent at 145 Bowery on Manhattan’s Lower East Side

Construction is rising on the 18-story Moxy Hotel at 145 Bowery on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Designed by Stonehill & Taylor Architects and developed by Lightstone Group, the 193-foot-tall structure will yield 127,000 square feet and 303 rooms, averaging 200 square feet apiece. The property, which is located at the corner of Broome Street and Bowery, will also feature a restaurant, a lobby bar, a cocktail bar, and a lounge.
