Excavation Work Progresses at 151-165 Broome Street on Manhattan’s Lower East Side

Excavation work is progressing at 151-165 Broome Street, the site of a two-building affordable housing complex on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Grand Street Guild Housing Development Fund Company, Grand Street Guild East Housing Development Fund Company, Southeast Grand Street Guild Housing Development Fund Company, and Clinton Broome Development LLC, the project consists of the 15-story “Building 3-5” at 165 Broome Street and 16-story “Building 3-6” at 151 Broome Street, and will yield a combined total of 480 units. Monadnock Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is located within the Seward Park Extension master plan and bound by Broome Street to the north, Pitt Street to the east, and Clinton Street to the west.

Renderings Reveal Expansion of Roy Lichtenstein’s Studio at 741/745 Washington Street in West Village, Manhattan

The Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) is now reviewing proposals from the Whitney Museum of American Art to renovate and expand Roy Lichtenstein’s West Village Studio at 741/745 Washington Street in Manhattan. If approved, the 9,000-square-foot building would receive a single-story brick addition facing Washington Street, new windows to replace an existing garage door on the ground floor, new stair and elevator bulkheads, and a chimney expansion to bring the building up to modern code.

208 Delancey Street Completes Construction on Manhattan’s Lower East Side

Construction is complete on 208 Delancey Street, a 12-story residential building on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Designed by ODA New York and developed by New Empire Corporation, the 85,000-square-foot structure yields 85 condominium units in studio to three-bedroom layouts with sales and marketing led by Compass. The property is located by the corner of Delancey Street and Pitt Street.

Sage Realty Secures $127.5M Loan to Complete Improvements at 77 Water Street in Financial District, Manhattan

Sage Realty and Principal Real Estate Investors have secured a $127.5 million financial package to complete major capital improvements at 77 Water Street, a 26-story commercial building in Manhattan’s Financial District. The scope of work will focus on the pedestrian plaza at the foot of the property, upgrades to the lobby, and a redesign of the existing arcade.

55 Suffolk Street’s Brick Façade Nears Completion on Manhattan’s Lower East Side

Façade installation is finishing up on 55 Suffolk Street, a 30-story residential tower in the two-building Broome Street Development complex on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Designed by Dattner Architects and developed by Gotham Organization, the 310-foot-tall structure stands directly to the east of The Norfolk Senior Housing Building, its 16-story sibling at 64 Norfolk Street. The complex rises from a shared podium and will yield a combined 387,223 square feet with 493 rental units, of which 43 percent will be dedicated to permanently affordable housing. Monadnock Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is located between Suffolk and Norfolk Streets.

Macklowe Properties Reveals Model Units and Interiors at One Wall Street in Financial District, Manhattan

Macklowe Properties has revealed new images of amenities and residential units at One Wall Street, New York City’s largest ever office-to-residential conversion. Located in Manhattan’s Financial District, the property houses 566 condominiums, a 44,000-square-foot Whole Foods Market, and a four-floor, 75,000-square-foot Life Time fitness center.

Construction On 222 E. Broadway Nears Completion On Manhattan’s Lower East Side

Exterior work is nearing the finish line on 222 E. Broadway, a 28-story residential tower on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Designed by SLCE Architects with S4Architecture designing the facade, and developed by Optimum Asset Management, the 84,271-square-foot structure will yield 70 units in studio to four-bedroom layouts, with an average scope of 1,397 square feet apiece and interiors by Paris Forino. 222 E. Broadway is located by the corner of E. Broadway and Clinton Street. Cantor Pecorella is handling sales and marketing.

NYHDC Inks 109,000-Square-Foot Lease at 120 Broadway in Manhattan’s Financial District

The New York City Housing Development Corporation (NYCHDC) will soon relocate to the Equitable Building, a historic office tower at 120 Broadway in Manhattan’s Financial District. As the agency’s new headquarters, the two-floor suite totals more than 109,000 square feet on the building’s second and third floors.

111 Wall Street’s New Façade Begins Installation in Financial District, Manhattan

Re-cladding work has begun on 111 Wall Street, a 25-story commercial building undergoing renovations in the Financial District. Designed by STUDIOS Architecture and developed by Wafra Capital Partners and The Nightingale Group, the $100 million project involves the replacement of the mid-century façade, a complete overhaul of 1.5 million square feet of office space, and the construction of an expanded lobby and new amenities designed by URBN Playground. Hunter Roberts Construction Group is the general contractor and JLL is handling leasing for the Lower Manhattan property, which is bound by Wall Street and Mannahatta Park to the northeast, Front Street to the northwest, Gouverneur Lane to the southwest, and South Street and the FDR Drive to the southeast.

Exterior Work Wraps Up on Google Headquarters at 550 Washington Street in Hudson Square, Manhattan

Construction has reached the final stages on Google’s 1.3 million-square-foot headquarters at 550 Washington Street in Hudson Square. Designed by COOKFOX Architects and developed by Oxford Properties, the project involves the repurposing and vertical expansion of the former St. John’s Terminal building along the Hudson River waterfront. The 232-foot-tall structure will serve as the centerpiece of the 1.7 million-square-foot “Googleplex” master plan along with 315 Hudson Street and 345 Hudson Street. Turner Construction is the general contractor for the property, which spans two full city blocks between West Street, West Houston Street, Washington Street, and the New York Department of Sanitation building.
