Excavation Begins for 1 St. Mark’s Place in East Village, Manhattan

Excavation has begun at 1 St. Mark’s Place, the site of a nine-story commercial building in the East Village. Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects and developed by Real Estate Equities Corporation, the structure will yield 53,000 square feet of office space and approximately 7,700 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The Rinaldi Group of New York is the general contractor, SDG Engineering PC is the structural engineer, and ICOR Associates is the MEPS engineer for the property, which is alternately addressed as both 3 St. Mark’s Place and 23-25 Third Avenue and is located at the corner of St. Mark’s Place and Third Avenue.

540 Hudson Street’s Brick Façade Nears Completion in Greenwich Village, Manhattan

Façade work is nearing completion on 540 Hudson Street, a seven-story residential building in Greenwich Village. Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects and developed by Aurora Capital Associates and William Gottlieb Real Estate, the 63-foot-tall structure will yield 19 units spread across 48,535 square feet and 6,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor and cellar. Titanium Construction Services is the general contractor for the property, which is also addressed as 111 Charles Street and is located at the corner of Hudson and Charles Streets.

Foundation Work Begins for RAMSA’s 14 Fifth Avenue in Greenwich Village, Manhattan

Foundation work is underway at 14 Fifth Avenue, the site of a 19-story residential building in Greenwich Village. Designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects and Hill West Architects and developed by Madison Realty Capital, which purchased the 5,255-square-foot plot for $27.5 million in 2015, the 241-foot-tall structure will yield 20 condominium units. CM & Associates is the general contractor for the property, which is located between East 8th and East 9th Streets, just north of Washington Square Park.

145 Perry Street Mansion Nears Completion in West Village, Manhattan

Construction is nearing completion on 145 Perry Street, a four-story private residence in the West Village. Designed by Leroy Street Studio with Robert Silman Associates Structural Engineers, the 30,000-square-foot structure is alternately addressed as 703-711 Washington Street and replaces a former two-story parking garage. Sciame Construction is the construction manager for the property, which is located at the corner of Perry and Washington Streets.

Below-Grade Work Progresses for Kohn Pedersen Fox’s 64 University Place in Greenwich Village, Manhattan

Excavation and foundation work is underway at 64 University Place, the site of an 11-story residential building in Greenwich Village. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and developed by Bsafal, the 125-foot-tall, 55,000-square-foot structure will yield 28 condominium units with sales and marketing led by Fredrik Eklund and John Gomes of the The Eklund ǀ Gomes Team at Douglas Elliman Real Estate, as well as a community facility and ground-floor retail space. SPACE Copenhagen is the interior designer, Deborah Nevins is the landscape designer, and CNY Group is the general contractor for the property, which is located between East 10th and East 11th Streets. Ancora Enginerring is the SOE and foundations engineer and McNamara Salvia is the structural engineer.

Permits Filed for 80 Clarkson Street in Hudson Square, Manhattan

Permits have been filed for a 34-story mixed-use building at 80 Clarkson Street in Hudson Square, Manhattan. Located at the intersection of Clarkson Street and West Street, the lot is three blocks west of the Houston Street subway station, serviced by the 1 train. Just like the permits filed for the neighboring site at 570 Washington Street, ACI VI Clarkson LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications. Zeckendorf Development and Atlas Capital purchased the site for $340 million.

YIMBY Scopes Views From 450 Washington Street in Tribeca, Manhattan

YIMBY took a tour of the upper floors of 450 Washington Street, a 12-story residential building on the Hudson River waterfront in Tribeca. Designed by Roger Ferris + Partners and developed by Related Companies, the structure is undergoing a renovation to convert its rental apartment layout into 176 condominium units, as well as an extensive exterior overhaul involving window replacement and a new exterior finish. Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group is handling sales and marketing for the condominiums, which range from studios to four-bedroom homes with pricing ranging from $1 million to $10 million. Hollander Design is the landscape architect for the property, which occupies a full block parcel bound by Watts Street to the north, Desbrosses Street to the south, Washington Street to the east, and West Street to the west.

63 Pitt Street Completes Construction on Manhattan’s Lower East Side

Construction is complete on 63 Pitt Street, a 12-story residential building on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Designed by Frank Quatela Architects and developed by Paul Stallings of 6 Strong Realty LLC, the building yields 59 rental apartments spread over 56,589 square feet with 18 homes designated for affordable housing. First Standard Construction was the general contractor for the property, which is located near the corner of Delancey and Pitt Streets.

Tech Incubator and Training Center Announced for Zero Irving at 124 East 14th Street in Union Square, Manhattan
