Last September, YIMBY posted the first renderings for a new CetraRuddy-designed hotel coming to 414 West 15th Street, in the Meatpacking District. And now, we have a few more updated images of the project, which show some changes to the rooftop, and also reveal the development’s street-level appearance.
Last fall, The Claremont Group received funding to convert the 25-story office building at 99-101 Wall Street, in the Financial District, into residential. Curbed spotted the launch of the building’s teaser site, and the site confirms plans for 52 luxury condominium units, of which are being designed by Piet Boon. Sales are expected to launch this spring.
Since YIMBY revealed Magnum Real Estate Group’s plans for 196 Orchard Street back in February, Real Estate Equities has partnered with Magnum to develop the 10-story, 83-unit mixed-use building. The two developers will soon close on the assemblage for $108 million, reports The Real Deal. Demolition of the existing single-story buildings should follow.
EV Grieve has noticed Vinbaytel Property Development’s seven-story, seven-condo-unit mixed-use building is wrapping up construction at 67 Avenue C, in the East Village. The façade has been installed, and the building will also includes a commercial unit for a retail tenant. Opening is scheduled for this summer.
While escalating prices are a bad thing, zoning limitations and historic districts are quickly turning the Lower East Side into one of the only parts of New York City where attractive and occasionally avant-garde architecture is legitimately feasible. YIMBY can now reveal the design for one of the neighborhood’s dwindling number of development sites, at 57 Orchard Street, where DXA Studio is designing a 15-story condominium tower.
