Renovation work is complete on the Whitehall Building, a 31-story mixed-use building at 17 Battery Place in Manhattan‘s Financial District. Designed by GACE and Thornton Tomasetti and developed by the Moinian Group, the two-year project focused on the restoration of the building’s Renaissance Revival exterior to the historical conditions of its completion in 1910. Yates Exterior Restoration Services was the contractor for the property, which is located at the intersection of Battery Place and West Street.

LPC Reviewing Façade Renovation Proposal For 83-85 Chambers Street In Tribeca, Manhattan

The New York City Landmark Preservation Commission is reviewing a proposal for façade renovations and and alterations to 83 and 85 Chambers Street, adjoining five-story residential buildings in Tribeca, Manhattan. Both buildings feature eight units and extend from Chambers Street to Reade Street, on the other side of the block. The proposal was assembled by GreenbergFarrow for United American Land LLC, and was presented to the LPC on March 5, 2024.

111 Charles Street Wraps Up Construction In West Village, Manhattan

Construction is finishing up on 111 Charles Street, a seven-story residential building in Manhattan’s West Village. Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects who received LPC approval for the facade design and built by BKSK Architects who also did the interiors, the 63-foot-tall structure spans 48,535 square feet and yields 19 rental units, as well as 6,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor and cellar levels. Titanium Construction Services was the general contractor, and Belden Tri-State Building Materials was the brick supplier for the project, which is alternately addressed as 540 Hudson Street and located at the corner of Hudson and Charles Streets.

The New York Landmark Preservation Commission is set to review a proposal for renovations to the New York Life Insurance Company Building at 108 Leonard Street in Tribeca, Manhattan. Designed by VIQ Architecture, the plans involve modifications to the Jack Shainman Gallery, which occupies the first three floors of the 13-story primarily residential building. The property was formally known as 346 Broadway and is alternately addressed as 46 Lafayette Street, where the entrance to the gallery is located.
