YIMBY can reveal exclusive interior renderings of the 14-story, 55-unit mixed-use project under development at 242 Broome Street, located on the corner of Ludlow Street on the Lower East Side. The latest images depict the condominiums as well as the project’s residential amenities, such as the rooftop terrace and an entertainment room. DXA Studio is responsible for the design of the interiors.
Extell is wrapping up work on its part affordable housing, part-luxe condo project at 70 Charlton Street, in the area west of Soho called Hudson Square. Tectonic recently swung by the site between Varick and Hudson Streets and captured the latest progress.
Construction is wrapping up on the 60-story, 145-unit residential tower at 56 Leonard Street, located on the corner of Church Street in TriBeCa. Tectonic’s latest photo, posted to the YIMBY Forums, shows that the exterior is practically complete, with the exception of the construction elevator and the façade that will go in its place. The 821-foot-tall building’s Jenga-like pattern of overhanging floors is now clearly visible. The upper floors were still sheathed in netting when YIMBY last brought you an update a year ago. The bold design is the work of Herzog & de Meuron. Alexico Group and Hines are the developers. All of 56 Leonard’s condominiums sold by late last year and occupancy is now underway.
New renderings, depicting the final design, are now available for the 25-story, 115-unit mixed-use building under development at 565 Broome Street (a.k.a. 100 Varick Street), in Hudson Square. The renderings come as sales have launched for the project’s condominiums. The latest building permits indicate the structure will eventually encompass 322,154 square feet and rise 290 feet above street level to its roof, which doesn’t include the bulkhead.
A new era is about to dawn for a SoHo building. On Tuesday, amid testimony from an Academy Award winner, the Landmarks Preservation Commission approved changes that will assist the office conversion of the parking garage at 165 Mercer Street. That’s on the west side of the street between Prince and West Houston streets.
