Located between Avenue C and Avenue D, the vacant lot is just off major thoroughfare East Houston Street. The Delancey Street subway station, serviced by the F train, is ten city blocks away. New York City’s Housing Preservation and Development agency is responsible for the applications.

In 1911, the infamous Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire claimed 146 lives, most of whom were young immigrant women. To commemorate the garment workers who perished in the fire, activists from the Remember the Triangle Fire Coalition have revealed proposals to construct a memorial at the site of the disaster.
Full demolition permits have been filed for 114 East 14th Street, the former retail space of P.C. Richard & Sons, also known as 124 East 14th Street. The appliance shop closed their two-story, 20,000-square-foot location last winter. In November of 2018, we reported the city’s Economic Development Corp. has been soliciting proposals to redevelop the site into new office space for up and coming business tenants in creative and tech industries in the neighborhood, and had since filed new construction permits for a 22-floor commercial building.
