Permits Filed For 30-Story Hotel at 112 Liberty Street, in The Financial District

Permits have been filed for a new 30-story hotel at 112 Liberty Street, in the Financial District. The site sits directly across from 150 Greenwich Street and the World Trade Center complex by the intersection of Church Street and Liberty Street. It will be designed by Stonehill & Taylor Architects and yield around 92,300 square feet of newly built space. Demolition of the current low-rise buildings will have to begin before excavation and construction on the new skyscraper can begin. The new skyscraper is proposed to be 327 feet tall and will be the tallest building on that parcel of land.

LPC Reviews New Proposal to Expand a Private Residence at 267 West 11th Street in Greenwich Village, Manhattan

Suk Design Group will again appear before the city’s Landmarks Preservation Commission to present revised proposals to renovate and expand the rear portion of a private residence in the Greenwich Village Historic District. Located at 267 West 11^th Street, the unique property includes a four-story structure with an additional single-story, enclosed structure in the rear courtyard that dates back to the 1930’s.

YIMBY Tours 125 Greenwich Street As Rafael Vinoly’s First Lower Manhattan Skyscraper Officially Tops Out At 912′

Above the Financial District, 125 Greenwich Street rises as a slender 88-story residential skyscraper. Designed by Rafael Vinoly and developed by Bizzi & Partners and Vector Group, the 912-foot tall glass and concrete structure has topped out. The 273 residential units are being marketed by Douglas Elliman, while the interiors are being designed by March & White. YIMBY recently got to go on a tour of the upcoming construction, capturing views from the very top.

11 Green Street Prepares For Curtain Wall Installation, in SoHo

Upcoming residential project 11 Greene Street is located in SoHo, at the corner of Greene Street and Canal Street. The building is being designed by Gwathmey Siegel Kaufman & Associates Architects and developed by Arch Companies. They took over the deal from Thor Equities and also secured a $45 million construction loan nearly one year ago. The development will eventually stand seven stories tall.

Evolve Architecture & Design Reveals Proposed External Alterations at 686 Broadway in NoHo, Manhattan

Evolve Architecture & Design has proposed major alterations to the exterior façade of 686 Broadway in Manhattan’s NoHo Historic District. The structure will serve as a restaurant and tasting room for The Great Jones Distillery, an establishment founded by Proximo Spirits.

Anish Kapoor’s Long-Awaited Bean Sculpture at 56 Leonard Street Gets Outlined, in Tribeca

Currently the tallest skyscraper in Tribeca is 56 Leonard Street, designed by Herzog & de Meuron. Its cantilevered balconies have created a distinctive and new architectural icon for Lower Manhattan. With the building complete, residents get to enjoy uninterrupted views of the Financial District to the south and the Midtown skyline to the north. But while most eyes are looking up at the Jenga-esque structure, something just as exciting was recently spotted down at street level.

300 Lafayette Street Nearing Completion in SoHo

In the SoHo neighborhood, 300 Lafayette Street sits along West Houston Street. The seven-story building has topped out as 145 feet and is close to completion. It is designed by COOKFOX and developed by Related and LargaVista Companies.

Glass Facade Reaching Final Floors Atop 74 Trinity Place, in The Financial District

Work on the reflective exterior glass curtain wall of 74 Trinity Place is now less than ten floors away from reaching the tower’s 424-foot tall roof parapet. Now topped-out 26 stories above the Financial District, the project is being designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects and developed by Trinity Real Estate. Stephen B. Jacobs Group is the executive architect.

New Renderings Reveal One Wall Street’s Impending Residential Rooftop

Following a major announcement for the $1.5 billion conversion and partial expansion of Manhattan’s One Wall Street, the development team has revealed new renderings of the building’s crowning residential areas.

192 Seventh Avenue South Tops Out, Exterior Work Continues in The West Village

Work on 192 Seventh Avenue South in the West Village is making steady progress. Underneath the black construction netting and scaffolding, the mixed-use building has already topped-out and the exterior brick and glass curtain wall can be seen from across the street. The building is being designed by SRA Architecture + Engineering and replaces an old one-story commercial structure. It is being developed by The Jackson Group and will contain four full-floor residences.
