Excavation Begins at 199 Chrystie Street on the Lower East Side

Excavation is beginning at 199 Chrystie Street for what will become a 14-story, 39,188 square-foot condominium tower with full-floor residences. R. Wade Johnson Design is listed as the architect of record for the the development, which is located on the Lower East Side near the corner of Chrystie Street and Stanton Street. KD Sagamore Capital is the owner and developer, and purchased the property for $20 million. The site was previously occupied by two buildings, 199 and 201 Chrystie Street, whose demolition was completed earlier this year.

Essex Crossing Tops Out at 180 Broome Street on the Lower East Side

A new mixed-use tower within the billion-dollar Essex Crossing development has officially topped out above the Lower East Side, Manhattan. Located at 180 Broome Street, the 26-story tower is designed by Handel Architects and will eventually contain 175,000 square feet of office space, 263 rental units, and 27,000 square feet of retail area. The building is expected to complete by the end of 2020, while the full Essex Crossing project is planned to wrap up by 2024.

Construction at 130 William Street is two floors from topping out over the Financial District. The upcoming condominium tower is the first project in New York City by Sir David Adjaye of Adjaye AssociatesHill West Architects is the architect of record while Lightstone Group is the developer. The 66-story development will rise 800 feet tall and yield 244 units marketed by Corcoran Sunshine.
