Renderings Revealed for SOM’s South Street Seaport Museum, in Lower Manhattan

Renderings have been revealed for a six-story, 30,000-square-foot building that will house the South Street Seaport Museum. Located at John and South Streets, the new construction is part of a massive undertaking by the Howard Hughes Corporation and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in the South Street Seaport District that also includes 250 Water Street, the completed Pier 17 building, and the 75,000-square-foot New Market Building adjacent to the Tin Building, which is already in progress.

561 Greenwich Street Cleared For Imminent Excavation in Hudson Square

Demolition has finished at 561 Greenwich Street in Hudson Square, the site of a 19-story commercial building. Designed by COOKFOX Architects, the 260,000-square-foot project will add 199,353 square feet of office space to the booming neighborhood. Hines is serving as development manager and Trinity Church Wall Street is listed as the owner on permits filed last November.

100 Vandam Street’s Façade Begins Emerging From Behind Scaffolding in Hudson Square

The first portion of 100 Vandam Street‘s expansion has emerged from behind the black construction netting that covers the 300-foot-tall building in Hudson Square. Designed by COOKFOX and developed by Jeff Greene, construction has topped out on the 25-story mixed-use project, which rises above the 132-year-old red brick walls of a former coal power plant.

Work Wrapping Up on 30 Warren Street’s Black Stone Façade in Tribeca

Exterior work is wrapping up on 30 Warren Street, a 12-story residential building in Tribeca. The 23-unit project is designed by Post-Office Architects with HTO Architects as the executive architect, and developed by Cape Advisors. Sales and marketing are being led by Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group.

Renderings Revealed For SHoP Architects-Designed Skyscraper at 2 Hudson Square, in Lower Manhattan

Today, YIMBY has the scoop and exclusive reveal of official renderings for the 450,380-square-foot mixed-use building coming to 2 Hudson Square. Located at the southeast corner of the neighborhood, the lot will soon house a public school with an office tower above for boutique finance and tech tenants. The 465-foot-tall, 26-story development is a joint venture between Taconic Investment Partners and Nuveen, after the pair acquired the land in a 99-year lease from Trinity Real Estate, the real estate branch of Trinity Church. SHoP Architects is responsible for the design.

202 Broome Street’s Curtain Wall Reaches Final Tiered Setback, on the Lower East Side

The glass curtain wall of 202 Broome Street has reached the final setback of the 14-story mixed-use building on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Designed by CetraRuddy, the property will feature 175,000 square feet of Class A offices with a max of 13-foot-high ceilings, 34,500 square feet of retail space, 83 residential units, and a 9,000-square-foot indoor park and recreation area called Broome Street Gardens. The project is part of the six-acre Essex Crossing complex, which is being developed by Delancey Street Associates, BFC Partners, L+M Development Partners, Taconic Investment Partners, The Prusik Group, and Goldman Sachs Urban Investment Group.

Demolition Underway at 1 Park Row in Financial District

Demolition work is moving along at 1 Park Row in the Financial District, a small triangular plot at the corner of Park Row and Ann Street. Little information on the scope of the forthcoming project has been announced since December 2017, when renderings surfaced for the lower portion of the structure. Designed by Fogarty Finger Architects and developed by Guardian Realty Management, the property will feature three floors of retail space, according to permits filed in October 2017, though the rendering in the main photo shows at least nine total stories.

Renderings Revealed for SOM’s Supertall 250 Water Street, in South Street Seaport District

In an exclusive reveal, today, YIMBY has the scoop on the renderings for Howard Hughes‘ planned supertall at 250 Water Street on the edge of the Financial District in the South Street Seaport, designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill. There has been much speculation about whether the full-block development could reach supertall status with the transfer of 700,000 square feet in air rights, which would make it the tallest structure in Lower Manhattan, after One and Three World Trade Center, with diagrams indicating a total height just shy of 1,052 feet.

Exterior Work at 100 Franklin Street Nears Completion in Tribeca

Exterior work is wrapping up on 100 Franklin Street in Tribeca, a residential building designed, developed, and built by DDG. The intricate 200-foot-long stretch of hand-laid Petersen Tegl bricks that enclose the main six- and eight-story eastern profile is complete, revealing a number of subtle and distinctive details. The development is located in the Tribeca East Historic District on a narrow triangular property and yields a total of ten full-floor residences. Douglas Elliman is in charge of sales for the units, which range from 1,427 to 3,673 square feet.

Renderings Revealed for South Street Seaport’s New Market Building, in Lower Manhattan

A complete set of renderings have been revealed for the 75,000-square-foot New Market building in Lower Manhattan’s South Street Seaport. The construction is part of a massive undertaking by the Howard Hughes Corporation and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in the South Street Seaport district. The community facility space will sit adjacent to the Pier 17 building and the Tin Building, which is currently being rebuilt and will reopen in early 2021.
