14-Story, 126-Unit Affordable Residential Building Planned At 111 East 172nd Street, Mount Eden

Community Access has filed applications for a 14-story, 126-unit apartment building at 111 East 172nd Street, in Mount Eden, located a few blocks north of the 170th Street stops on the B, D, and 4 trains. The structure will measure 107,272 square feet in total, which means apartments will average 851 square feet apiece. Units will be rented at below-market rates, with some being designated for mental health and additions patients. Brooklyn-based Peter Woll is the architect of record. The block-thru site consists of a single-story building and a three-story townhouse, which first have to be demolished.

Ben Baum, of Brooklyn-based Real Properties, has filed applications for two four-story, eight-unit residential buildings at 600-602 Oak Terrace, in Mott Haven, located four blocks from the 6 train’s Brook Avenue stop. One of the buildings will measure 5,564 square feet while the other 5,476 square feet; across the development, units will average a rental-sized 690 square feet apiece. Flavio Barros’ Long Island City-based CB Engineering is the applicant of record, and the plot of land is currently vacant.

Revealed: 250-Unit Mixed-Use Building Planned At 1755 Watson Avenue, Soundview

The Azimuth Development Group is planning an expansive mixed-use project at 1755 Watson Avenue, between Rosedale Avenue and Commonwealth Avenue, in the Soundview section of the Bronx. The 250,000-square-foot building will house 250 mixed-income residential units, plus 20,000 square feet of retail space. With the residential units spread across 230,000 square feet, that means units averaging about 920 square feet. Aufgang Architects is the designer.
