Construction is wrapping up on Park House, an eight-story residential building at 500 West 22nd Street in West Chelsea. Alternately addressed as 197 Tenth Avenue, the 33,662-square-foot structure is designed by Annabelle Selldorf of Selldorf Architects for Brantwood Capital and will yield ten residential units atop 1,959 square feet of ground-floor retail space, and a main lobby along West 22nd Street. Compass is handling sales and marketing for the homes, which range from one- to four-bedroom units and two duplex penthouses, with pricing from $2.65 million to $12 million. Foundations Group is the general contractor for the building, which is located at the intersection of Tenth Avenue and West 22nd Street, a short distance from the High Line.

Façade installation is getting close to completion on The Cortland, a 25-story residential building at 555 West 22nd Street in West Chelsea. Designed by Robert A. M. Stern Architects with SLCE Architects as the architect of record and developed by Related Companies, the structure will yield 144 residential units spread over 250,000 square feet, for an average of 2,245 square feet. Related Sales LLC and CORE are the co-sales and marketing agents for the property, which is located along West Street across from Hudson River Park between West 22nd and West 23rd Streets. Sales will launch early this year and homes range from studios to five-bedroom layouts, along with a collection of exclusive penthouses.

Green Roof Construction Progresses at 341 Ninth Avenue in West Chelsea, Manhattan

Construction is progressing on Manhattan’s largest outdoor roof deck atop the ten-story 341 Ninth Avenue in West Chelsea. Tishman Speyer and the United States Post Office are working together to redevelop the 2.2-million-square-foot building, known as the Morgan North Postal Facility, which was originally completed in 1933 and occupies a full block from Ninth to Tenth Avenues and West 29th to West 30th Streets. Upon completion, the structure will not only boast a 2.5-acre landscaped rooftop, but also more than 5,000 square feet of ground-floor retail along Ninth Avenue and newly renovated and modernized office floors. CBRE represented USPS in prior negotiations with Tishman Speyer for the project. King Contracting Group is handling the removal and replacement of the main roof on the seventh floor, totaling 150,000 square feet.
