Construction Update: Memorial Sloan Kettering’s David H. Koch Center for Cancer Care, Upper East Side

One of the biggest names in cancer care is getting even bigger. The Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), which has become a large network of centers, both in and outside of New York City, is constructing the David H. Koch Center for Cancer Care on the East Side. Located along the FDR Drive between East 73rd Street and East 74th Street, it will not only care for patients, but also have a research element. Thanks to photos from our friend Tectonic, we can see that a fair amount of below-ground work has been accomplished.

19-Story, 15-Unit Residential Project Well Underway At 60 East 86th Street, Upper East Side

Three years ago, news broke that Glenwood Management would be building a 19-story, 15-unit luxury residential building at 60 East 86th Street, on the Upper West Side. The Thomas Juul-Hansen-design project is now structurally complete and receiving its façade, thanks to photos by Tectonic (h/t Curbed). Those 15 condominiums will spread across 52,213 square feet of residential space, which means units will be incredibly large, averaging 3,480 square feet apiece. Completion is expected later this year.

54-Story, 33-Unit Residential Tower Rises At 520 Park Avenue, Upper East Side

YIMBY partially revealed schematics back in 2013 of Zeckendorf Development’s planned 54-story, 33-unit ultra-luxury residential tower at 520 Park Avenue (formerly 45 East 60th Street), in Lenox Hill. Later that year, demolition wrapped up on the site’s old low-rise structures. Since then, work has focused on building the project’s foundation. In recent months, however, the tower has finally begun to rise, as seen in these photos by Tectonic, and concrete is now being poured for the fourth floor. Robert A.M. Stern Architects is designing the limestone-clad structure, which will eventually host some of New York’s most opulent condominiums. Completion is currently expected in 2017.

Condo Conversion Wraps Up At Manhattan House, Former Upper East Side Rental Building

The condominium conversion of the Upper East Side’s Manhattan House – a landmarked 20-story, 584-unit rental complex, located at 200 East 66th Street and built in 1951 – is now wrapping up, the Observer reports. O’Connor Capital Partners shelled out $623 million for the exclusive rental property back in 2005. Today, the complex sports 495 condominiums and an additional 93 rent-stabilized units. Twenty-six of the condos have yet to be sold. Gordon Bunshaft of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill originally design Manhattan House, and Sasaki Associates designed the building’s private garden.
