Reveal for Riverside Galleria, Another Major Retail Center Coming to Staten Island

Staten Island‘s North Shore has been booming with new development over the past few years, with projects including a new outlet mall, a ferris wheel, and various other residential and hotel infill. The rest of the island has also been brimming with similar proposals, with the Staten Island Mall also set for a major expansion. Now, Charleston, on the southwest corner of the island, is about to receive a substantial retail upgrade of its own, with plans submitted for a massive new shopping center totaling almost 600,000 square feet, dubbed the Riverside Galleria, next to Arthur Kill Road and the Outer Bridge Crossing.

Permits Filed For CetraRuddy-Designed Office Building at 1441 South Avenue, Bloomfield, Staten Island

Staten Island rarely sees major new developments, and when it does, they normally appear on the island’s northeastern shorefront, in and around the St. George ferry terminal. But now, in the borough’s Bloomfield neighborhood on the far western side of the island, new job applications have been filed for an office building that will span just shy of 325,000 square feet, with a design by CetraRuddy Architects.

Four-Story, Six-Story Mixed-Use Building Planned at 91 Port Richmond Avenue, Elm Park, Staten Island

A Queens-based property owner has filed applications for a four-story, six-unit mixed-use building at 91 Port Richmond Avenue, located on the corner of Ann Street in Elm Park, a neighborhood on Staten Island’s North Shore. The project will measure 6,291 square feet, featuring 1,580 square feet of ground-floor retail space, followed by six residential units across the second through fourth floors. The apartments should average 785 square feet apiece, indicative of rentals. New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Century Consulting Corporation is the applicant of record. The 1,900-square-foot lot is occupied by a single-story commercial building. Demolition permits have not been filed.

Twin Three-Story, Two-Family Houses Coming to 899 Sinclair Avenue, Woodrow, Staten Island

Staten Island-based CCI Builders Corp. has filed applications for twin three-story, two-family houses at 899-903 Sinclair Avenue, located on the corner of Foster Road in Woodrow, a neighborhood along Staten Island’s South Shore. The buildings will measure 4,489 square feet each. Across both, the residential units should average a family-sized 1,625 square feet apiece. There will also be a total of six off-street parking spaces, two of which will be housed in built-in garages. Stanley M. Krebushevski’s Staten Island-based firm is the architect of record. The 11,050-square-foot plot is occupied by a single-story house. Demolition permits have not been filed.
