The affordable housing lottery has launched for 1755 Watson Avenue, a nine-story mixed-use building in Soundview, The Bronx. Designed by Aufgang Architects and developed by Azimuth Development Group, the structure yields 312,880 square feet for 326 residences, amenities, parking, ground-floor retail, and space for the Bronx Pentecostal Deliverance center. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 283 units for residents at 30 to 100 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $15,052 to $148,000.

Stevenson Commons Expansion Project in The Bronx Proceeds to Next Step of Review by the Department of City Planning

The Department of City Planning is now reviewing Environmental Impact Statements for a six-building expansion of Stevenson Commons in the Soundview section of The Bronx. Owned by Camber Property Group, the development site is located at White Plains Road and 1850 Lafayette Avenue and currently comprises nine Mitchell-Lama buildings spanning 990,050 square feet.

The 219,546-square-foot corner building is designed by Dattner Architects and co-developed by The Acacia Network and Phipps Houses and will yield a total 249 units in a mix of studios, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 223 apartments for residents at 30 to 110 percent of the area median income, ranging in eligible income from $14,640 to $155,100.

Proposals from Camber Property Group reveal a massive expansion of Stevenson Commons, a mixed-income residential complex in the Soundview section of The Bronx. The parcel is currently in pre-construction, but will eventually replace the Soundview Presbyterian Church with a mix of rental apartments, an updated chapel building, and a community facility.

City agencies have announced the development of an affordable housing project dedicated to low- and extremely low-income senior citizens in the Soundview section of The Bronx. Known as Casa Celina, it is a collaboration between NYCHA and the city’s department of Housing Preservation and Development with private entities Xenolith Partners, The Kretchmer Companies, ELH Mgmt., and the Jewish Association Serving the Aging, known colloquially as JASA.
