Demolition permits have been filed for two buildings at 10-14 West 57th Street and 20 West 57th Street in Midtown, Manhattan. Located between 5th Avenue and 6th Avenue, the sites are steps away from the 57th Street subway station, serviced by the F train. Anthony Calicchio of Solow Realty & Development Group is listed as the owner behind the applications. Solow Realty has been methodically purchasing parcels on West 57th Street, including 7, 10-14, 16, 20-22; all near their quintessential office property—9 West 57th Street.

Leasing Launches For Solow’s 685 First Avenue in Midtown East, Manhattan

Located on a 32,365 square foot parcel along First Avenue between East 39th Street and East 40th Street, 685 First Avenue has officially launched leasing for its 408 units. With a 460-foot tall facade of pitch black glass facing the East River, the 43-story tower is one of the newest and tallest skyscrapers to be completed in Midtown’s Murray Hill. Sheldon Solow of Solow Building Company is the developer of the 800,000 square foot project, while Richard Meier & Partners Architects is the designer. Leasing and move-ins are now underway, with units marketed by Citi Habitats New Developments.

Façade Closing Up, Sales Underway for Solow’s 685 First Avenue in Murray Hill

Back in January of 2017, construction at 685 First Avenue had just reached the fifth floor. In just under two years, the tower and façade have topped out, sales have launched, and completion is expected by the end of the year. Sheldon Solow’s Solow Building Company is developing the 42-story minimalist Murray Hill skyscraper.

Solow Files for 52-Story Skyscraper at 12 West 57th Street

The development saga continues on a hotly contested segment of West 57th Street located just south of Central Park, between 5th and 6th Avenues. Solow Management Corp has filed fresh permits for 12 West 57^th Street, revealing a new 52-story mixed-use skyscraper with a proposed height of 672 feet.

Solow’s 685 First Avenue Nearing Completion, Murray Hill

Among the few vacant lots remaining in Murray Hill, 685 First Avenue, between East 39th and 40th Streets, was one of the largest before permits were filed back in August of 2015. In May of 2016, the first renderings for the building were released, and by January of this year, construction was several floors above street level. Now, the latest photos from 5B Films show that work has topped-out, and the facade is closing in on the upper levels, as the 42-story tower approaches completion.

42-Story, 556-Unit Mixed-Use Tower Climbs to Fifth Floor at 685 First Avenue, Murray Hill

Construction is now five stories above street level on the 42-story, 556-unit mixed-use tower under development at 685 First Avenue, located between East 39th and 40th streets in Murray Hill. Progress on the structure can be seen thanks to photos posted to the YIMBY Forums. The latest building permits indicate the project will encompass 813,813 square feet and rise 460 feet in height.
