111 West 57th Street’s Exterior Hoist Disassembled in Midtown, Manhattan

Exterior work is taking another step toward completion on 111 West 57th Street, a 1,428-foot residential supertall on Midtown, Manhattan’s Billionaires’ Row, as the construction elevator has been disassembled from the northern elevation. Designed by SHoP Architects and developed by JDS DevelopmentProperty Markets Group, and Spruce Capital Partners, 111 West 57th Street is the world’s most slender building with a height-to-width ratio of 24:1, and features 60 units designed by Studio Sofield and marketed by Douglas Elliman Development Marketing.

SHoP Architects’ 26-Story Two Hudson Square Awaits Construction in Hudson Square, Manhattan

Construction preparations have yet to begin at Two Hudson Square, site of a 465-foot-tall mixed-use project in Hudson Square. Alternately addressed as 76 Varick Street, the vacant 32,699-square-foot property will give rise to a 26-story, 450,380-square-foot building designed by SHoP Architects and developed by a joint venture between Taconic Investment Partners and Nuveen, which acquired the land in a 99-year lease from Trinity Real Estate. The trapezoidal plot is bound by Canal Street to the south, Varick Street to the west, Grand Street to the north, and Sullivan Street and Duarte Square to the east.

Tin Building Nears Completion in the Seaport District, Manhattan

Exterior work is nearing completion on the Tin Building, a 53,000-square-foot market structure on the rebuilt Pier 17 in the South Street Seaport District. Designed by SHoP Architects and developed by Howard Hughes Corporation with Plaza Construction as construction manager, the Lower Manhattan project will feature a seafood market by Jean-Georges Vongerichten, the main tenant of the waterfront property. The site is located to the immediate west of SHoP Architect’s Pier 17 and east of the elevated FDR Drive and South Street.
